Golden Rules for Happy Life

A good health can be achieved by the primary fact that one lives his life according to his means. One has to restrict his spending to less than his income and he never allows his desires to go beyond his means. By implication he never looks to enhance his resources by incorrect means.

This simple person who lived by the wisdom of Gita to do one’s duty and live by right conduct had neatly demolished his colleagues’ contention that it was impossible to be healthy if you were in a tough and demanding job.

One lives a self-governed, strictly disciplined life full of self – sacrifice, always ready for service of others with hard sustained work and behaves with utmost calm and is considerate, truthful, industrious.

An early riser, economical and conserves time, energy, thought, wealth, food, clothing .. …….every thing that is important.

True Devotee of the Supreme Lord and always attentively working towards the goal of life, that is to get HIS Pleasure and a permanent place in HIS Holy Feet.

A happy life is when you feel you don’t need a lot. There is freedom in simplicity.

Absolutely right !!!

There is no sorrow and pain when we do not have any desire which is not being fulfilled.

A person with no desire will be always happy.

Thanks for the comment.

Absolutely DR. Saini, those who do not have desires that are not fulfilled don’t have sorrow or pain…does that mean it includes only people who do not have any desires? Does it also not mean that all those people who have desires and are lucky enough to get all their desires satisfied one by one are also happy?

If we have no desires we will have nothing to look forward to in life. Its only that we should not let our desires control us to the extent of making us crave for them and hence become sorrowful when we don’t meet them. Happiness is about keeping our desires under our control and working towards achieving them and not regretting when we don’t fulfill them.

I really like you saying

”Happiness is about keeping our desires under our control and working towards achieving them and not regretting when we don’t fulfill them”

but, how the persons at other end will think like so.

The desires of worldly objects which can not be fulfilled withing the honest earnings make one unhappy.

One gets True Happiness when HIS desire to meet the Supreme LORD is realized!!!
