Hate and Jealousy can make a person Mad !!!

Hate and Jealousy can make a person Mad. This is because, one looses the sense of analysis and decision making. The mind gets covered under a layer which stops its normal functioning.
One forgets everything which is necessary and important and gets entangled into the unwanted and useless activities.
At any stage, when a person is exposed to such situations where his mind starts behaving erratically, one should switch off the mind and take up some activity which he likes most.
This will lead to a normal mind set within short span of time.

We should always remember to be away from such situations.

It is the inner evils which are more dangerous as they are hidden and only oneself can remove them, if he wants.

Well, I suppose hatred is the direct result of jealously and more often than not jealously is a result of a person’s own insecurities.
When people compare themselves to other without a a ration view of the differences in the respective situations, they tend to become jealous of their achievements and start seeing themselves as victims of injustice on all kinda levels...
Jealousy turns into hatred and ultimately it only hurts the owner of these feelings even more... Its like a vicious circle and unfortunately people just keep spiraling downwards unless they hit rock bottom...
The only way jealousy and hatred could be eliminated from a person’s life is if they just look at their situation objectively and thank God for what they have and try to work hard for what they don’t...

Every body knows that hatred and jealousy is bad but it is our desires and negative approach to life which brings these evils.

People commit the worst of crimes more out of jelousy than hatred.

Very true. If one is content with what is granted to him, there is no need of any object of this world, name, fame etc.

Yes, to get HIS love we must purify ourselves of all these evils.

Your own display message ”BE HAPPY with what ever you have been granted by HIM!!!” speaks for this post.
If we can count our blessings with ease, its much easier to steer clear of such negative emotions.
However easier said than done, its difficult to put it in to practice when one is battered against some provoking situation.

If we know the objective and we sincerely work towards it the success is not very far. Gradually we reach the state when we are very happy with whatever is granted to us. This is my own experience, not read from any book.

@Dr Saini, any simple ways where we can overcome feelings of hate, envy and anger?
4 Stars
How there can be simple ways for solving complex problems, as this is very complex problem. But the solution becomes simple for some one who has changed his mind set.
A simple question is why one has hatred and jealousy against any one else?
The root cause of this kind of feelings are our desire to have all those objects or name and fame which the other person is enjoying.
One can be free from these desires if he has an approach where he always thanks the Supreme Lord for whatever is granted to him. As he looks at people below him who are much poor and do not have even the basic needs being fulfilled.
Thus, it is the control of desire and the approach to life which can change the feelings of everyone.

Does that rule out the need to be ambitious Sir?
5 Stars
Very right Sir. However, this kind of approach is developed over time by reflecting and realizing some many aspects of one’s life etc. We need to aquire knowledge of the fundamental realites of our being and the Lord.
Imam Ghazali says: ”The causes which cause anger to grow are self-conceit, self-praise, jests and ridicule, argument, treachery, too much greed for too much wealth and name and fame. If these evils are united in a person, his conduct becomes bad and he cannot escape anger. So these things should be removed by their opposites. Self-praise is to be removed by modesty. Pride is to be removed by one’s own origin and birth, greed is to be removed by remaining satisfied with necessary things, and miserliness by charity.”
A few things that we Muslims have been recommeneded i would like to share those with you:
1. Your intention comes first of all. Once you have edcided that i want to leave anger, humble myself, Allah helps you automatically.
2. Fearing Allah and being humble. But then only those who know HIm can fear HIm and humble themselves.
3. HOw to know Him? Read the Quran and sayings of the Prophet (PBUH) and reflect upon them. You will know Him and the smallness of your own being whcih results in humbling oneself which helps you to leave anger and jealousy.
4. Some quick medicines for this as precribed by the Prophet (PBUH) are:
a) Anger occurs due to the evil suggestions of the devil. The devil was created from fire. Fire is extinguished with water. Take ablution (Wudu) for overcoming anger!”
b) ”Whoever is overtaken by anger should sit down if he is standing up. If anger continues, he should lay down on one of his sides!”
c) WHen you are taken by anger, take refuge from the satan. we say ”I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan.”
Arrogance and pride lead to anger, hatred and jealousy:
”You should avoid self-admiration, having reliance upon what appears good in yourself, and love of exaggerated praise because this is one of the most reliable opportunities for Satan.”
Imam Ali
”He who has even a little arrogance in his heart will not be allowed to enter Heaven.” Imam Ali

Any tips on good life style can be practiced if we find that it will help us reach our ultimate goal.
4 Stars
What we mean by ambitious means we have some target to achieve. But as written in Bhagwat Gita ”Karm Kiye Ja Phal Li iccha mat kar”
Our duty is to plan and work towards the goal but the result or success is in HIS hand.
This is true and real as we see our players work very hard to earn medals in Olympic but how many get the success? That is HIS wish.

When you aspire to reach your goal, you work hard for it, put in your best. But when you cannot taste success for what so ever reasons, its human to feel dejected, insecured which may lead to jealousy and hatred.
You need to have a saint’s heart to actually smile over failure and losses in life.

Deepa, very well said. After putting in efforts, a person does feel dejected with failure. But I think its very childish to expect to win every time because of efforts we put in. Its natural to fail.
Failure or unpleasant things are always given more importance over pleasant things that heppen in life.

failure and success both are relative and momentary i think. like when we were in school getting +A is success for us, but today it doesnt matter if i got +A or -B. similarly, tomorow it wont matter that i got the post of Asst. manager or manager in a firm... i mean everything is just so momentary. Success and failure should be judged at the end of life, in totality rather than in parts in our lives... Failure is good if it makes u a better person... succes is bad if it makes us arrogant as we will end up in hell :s

One can apply his analytical mind to find the logic as how HE thinks and what HE likes? But the analysis will be correct? It depends on the analysts own capability of knowing about HIM.

I am sorry but you are confusing me. Keeping with the topic of sports, I think in cricket HE only likes Australians. And its quite a co-incidence that Aussies are hard working, applying latest technology to train their players, sincere effort not only by players by the entire support staff and officials.
Come to think of it, its quite true for the countries like USA, China, Aus, etc who all do well in Olympics.
May be HE likes people who do karma in right way?? or would you still say the result does not depend on that?

@ Manish. LOL...
”Man gets what he strives for.” Quran
This applies to general things in life and strife of man. However, the role of destiny is a complex subject, like Dr. Ratan has aptly said ”His will”. Destiny or HIs will is not for us common ple to comprehend or discuss buddy.

Sorry to continue on topic of sports in this post of ”Hate and Jealousy”, but if I understood you right, it does not matter how players are trained, etc. What matters is HE should want a player or players from particular country to win. And since past many years HE has wanted players from US, China etc to win in Olympics and Cricketers from Australia to win, so they are winning..
And someday HE will want, out of HIS logic, Indian players to win and so we will start winning despite lack of training, corrupt officials etc.... Hmmmm

I think you have not read my comment above in proper perspective.
” The results depend on our efforts and HIS Wish.”
Our efforts means officials players and governments.
His Wish is very clear.
Both should be there for success.

I must add here Dr. Saini that you have written on a very good topic. Hate and Jealousy along with self-pity and insecurity are indeed dangerous -ve emotions and we should avoid them to lead a good life.
And in this complex world that we live in, hate and insecurity are 2 emotions that most people experience how much ever they try to avoid.
