The question is very simple and so is the answer.
When we have all the desires fulfilled, we never look for any kind of help from any body.
When we get some kind of trouble, we try to solve it with help of our freinds and relatives or doctors etc.
When all of these people fail to help us to reduce the trouble we turn to HIM ans ask for HIS help.
If we talk on worldly terms, we turn to help to those people with whom we have good relation and have faith that they will do all possible and definitely help us.
Then why we do not like to have good relation and faith in HIM right from the beginning as we find later that we have to go to HIM only when every one fails to help us?

To sum up, there is no difference in faith and belief in practical terms. If I get an experience of a helping hand in my life and I believe that this is HIS hand, then nothing can prove it otherwise.
And if one do not believe in an existence of GOD, no one else then HE HIMSELF can create a Faith in that person.
