I have been writing long as well as small articles and I have found small one have better response from the readers. Small articles provoke questions while long one are not read completely.
Please write your experience and views about the two types of articles posted by me and by yourself, that is long or small articles are better?

All depends on the “Quality of matter” in the article not in the quantity that the article is holding. If an article is small and the view is conveyed than it is just fine. Availability of time is also a major factor for reader.

You are absolutely right and based on your comments I can say if quality article is small in length, it will take lesser time of the reader but convey the important message effectively.

Anything which conveys the message is good. Since time is limited, smaller the better.

If, you ask me, what you have said is the long and short of it!

I think it is the idea that matters. If you can keep the attention of your readers, a long article can be great. That probably is the problem with long articles, the reader can loose interest anytime.
Short articles don’t suffer this drawback, but then their information content is bound to be low.

Looking at the time constraint normal in todays world, I think most important aspect is content quality and in how little time one can convey, that is efficacy and efficiency.

It does not matter whether an article is long or shorter. What it matters is the quality it has. The theme, idea and points to support it and the style of presentation. It’s true that long articles may not be read completely by all. But if it’s attractive, it will automatically motivate the reader to read all. In my opinion short articles are easy and comfortable to read and understand, just like it’s easy to write. May be for that reason, readers prefer to read it fast. But it needs to be that effective.
First the title should be good to make it interesting. Otherwise one will overlook it. Readers vary and interests also vary. So it depends on the subject or theme also that who is reading what. I guess!
