My Dear Dr.Sahib,
Truly said;but the problem which remains to be decided is what would please The Lord the most? Becomes even more important to determine if we wish to limit such activity in terms of number of acts per day.

By just looking into our self we can find what is that which pleases HIM.

There is an Indian tale that goes like this…There was person who would do nothing but concentrate on God all day. And there was another person who would carry on with his worldly responsibilities to make his ends meet, but not think about God even for a second. When both of them die, God gave the latter a place in heaven and pushed the other down to earth again saying that he did not complete his worldly responsibilities. So work is worship and that is what pleases God the most.
If you don’t earn money how are you going to feed your children? And if you don’t spend some good time how are you going to get the energy to work again. Mere earning of money is not going to displease God. Earning that is motivated by excessive greed is definitely going to displease God. So its rather the motive behind what you do that pleases or displeases God. Its not necessary for you to leave your materialistic pursuits to please GOD and attain him.

There has to be a balance between what we do for our worldly needs and the activities to please HIM.

Being a non-ritualistic, I believe that you can please God in many ways as you go about your daily chores and activities. Not necessary that reading holy books and visiting temples only bring you in good book of God.
