According to Sage Vashishtha, ties are of eight kinds.
They are:
(1) honour and position of one’s family,
(2) honour and respectability of one’s cast,
(3) honour and status of one’s official position, i.e. the work one
does and the authority he wields,
(4) considerations of and anxiety regarding good or bad name, in the
world,
(5) attachment of wife, children wealth and property,
(6) prejudice in favour of wrong beliefs and undesirable faith,
(7) Hope and greed and desire for the pleasures and enjoyments of the
world and
(8) egotism.

When one is able to break these ties, then only he can be capable of communication with the Supreme LORD.

One who is able to break these bonds or ties will be clean and pure from heart and mind to be able to communicate with HIM.

There is one Sharp Knife which can cut all the Ties. Believe in that Knife, GOD. HE will release you from all the unwanted ties. :)

This is the Vedantic belief of the world shrouded in Maya that prevents us from realizing our absolute oneness with the unified presence.

very correctly pointed out by Sage Vashishtha. We all are deeply attached by these eight ties. Even though one may be able to break the other relationships, but the (7) Hope and greed and desire for the pleasures and enjoyments of the world and(8) egotism are much more difficult to leave. Because these two are deep rooted in one’s own heart and mind, in such a way that, as if one is born with this. There is no one else who has created it or involved in it, other than the man himself.

Even there are many other attachments, each man has with regard to habits and customs.

An old Bollywood song professes ”Sansaar se bhaage firte ho, bhagwaan ko tum kya paoge”

God made this mayavi world to help us experience physical birth... giving up on the physical aspects, including attachments, is almost like dishonoring God’s creation... so how exactly can you achieve closeness to God if you dont regard his creations, including physical limitations and bonds??

these ”saints” treated humans of a lower cast worse than an animal... would God Himself ever condone that a being He created Himself should be treated like dirt in order to gain closeness to Him??

It is like we have been given Vish and Amrit, people treat the pleasure of world as Amrit and wants to remain entangled in them. The reality is theya re just like Wish and the True Amrit is when one has the Vision of the Lord !!!

To have the Vision of the LORD one has to detach from the objects of this world while doing his normal duties and shouldering responsibilities and also doing regular spiritual practices.
