Religious is just following the rituals without feeling GOD, and spirituality is real path towards reaching HIM, without showing rituals. Religious is the first step towards spirituality, but being only religious is never towards spirituality.

It is because the most of the religions today are run by people who are not spiritual and thus the purpose of religion has been defeated.

Initially when the Spiritual Person initiated the religion, through his direct communication with the Supreme Lord, gave true guidance, as how one can follow the path of devotion to meet the Supreme Lord!!

Later after they departed from this world, non spiritual people took over the religion and thus spirituality and purity of purpose lost in misunderstanding, mistakes and confusion.

Public at large now find no spiritual benefit from religion and thus found it to be non spiritual.

Finally, one should understand that no spiritual development is possible with any religion until there is a living spiritual leader who is guiding the people as how one should live and practice the spiritual activities on day to day basis.

If one is religious and believe that God is omnipresent and being religious is a pre-requisite to be near him. So, does it mean that a religious person should be a spiritual one?

What I believe is its easier to be religious than being spiritually enlightened. So, to me, boasting spirituality qualifies you to be religious already.

Mr. Desh, what is the objective of any religion? And what you think you call Spiritual ?

As far as I believe and understand, religion aims at making a person benevolent, more human, akin to God in imitation of the virtues He’s associated to, bringing brotherly feelings among all and urges one to find Him.

Spirituality relates itself with matters of the spirit or soul. Its tied to one’s religious belief and faith whether you believe in one or more deities. It aims at taking one to a realization of oneness with God.

So, religion is what we carry along with us since our birth unknowingly and its our identity. Being religious doesn’t guarantee one being spiritually enlightened.

I am sorry to be of different view on this.

Religion is the path one should follow to develop spiritual abilities to communicate with HIM and have HIS ”Darshan”, to be with HIM for ever, what we call ”Moksha”.

Thus, Religion tells us the practices to be followed including meditation and worship, in addition to our behavior with our family friends and society.

OK Dr.

If you just see and mix the purport of both my comments, you would come to realize our views are not that different. As you didn’t bother to, let me do it for you.

In my first comment, I wasn’t in the least willing to deviate from the topic you’ve thrown open for discussion.

“Boasting spirituality qualifies you to be religious already.”

In stating thus, I had tried to answer why people prefer to call themselves spiritual; it covers more.

“Spirituality relates itself with matters of the spirit or soul. Its tied to one’s religious belief and faith whether you believe in one or more deities. It aims at taking one to a realization of oneness with God.”

So, spirituality is the path shown by religion/religions, depending upon the beliefs we have individually, to attain MOKSHA as you’ve said.

Hope there shouldn’t be any of differences; its comprehension that matters.

Thanks, sir.

I think spirituality is the awareness of one’s spirit and the supreme spirit. A spiritual person will want to ultimately know the supreme spirit and merge with him.I don’t think anybody can be truly spiritual without following the path to spirituality. If you are doing that then you will get stuck at one point.

You are absolutely right !!!!

The path to HIM is described in Religion, which is so much defamed that no body wants to take its name, but want to be spiritual.

Is this an article? It has a title, one line, and a Hallmark-like picture. I didn’t know you can submit articles like this in Instablogs!

The opinion polls of Instablogs Viewpoint has a few lines to explain what’s being put on forum!
