When we are having true desire for our spiritual development we tend to search a guide who we believe has seen the path and is ready to help us.

His guidance of controlling out mind and body is the true path to develop spiritual faculties.

What I have learned is that it is a slow process and we need to weigh our actions in a way that which one will please HIM and which one will not.

For example, if I have an option of going to a movie and going to listen to some religious discourse in the same time slot then HE will be pleased by me when I go and listen about HIS glory and steps involved in the method of devotion rather than watching a thriller or romantic movie.
